Pothole Repairs
Local Pothole Repairs Nationwide
A pothole is what happens when water gets through a cracked surface, softens the layers beneath and freezes. Traffic breaks the weakened area apart, and each wet winter makes the hole wider and deeper. Left alone, one pothole damages tyres and suspension, becomes a trip hazard for pedestrians and starts to break up the surface around it.
We repair potholes on car parks, private roads, industrial estates and business premises across the Midlands, and travel nationwide for larger programmes. A single hole and a full site of them are handled the same way: cut back to sound material, bonded, filled with hot material and sealed.
Where potholes are appearing across an area rather than in one or two places, the problem is usually the surface as a whole. We will tell you if patching is still good value or if a planed and relaid section would cost less over time.

How the job runs
How we repair a pothole
- 1
Step 01
Assess the damage
We look at each pothole and the surface around it, checking depth and whether the base has failed, so you only pay for the work each one needs.
- 2
Step 02
Cut and clear
The hole is saw cut into a regular shape back to firm tarmac, then loose stone, water and debris are removed down to a solid base.
- 3
Step 03
Bond and fill
A bond coat goes on the base and cut faces, then hot material is laid in compacted layers until it sits flush with the surrounding surface.
- 4
Step 04
Seal the joints
The joint between old and new is sealed so rainwater cannot seep in and start the same cycle of freezing and breaking up again.

Pricing
What affects the cost of pothole repairs
Pothole repairs are priced on what we find at the survey, which is free. The number and size of the holes matter, but so does what lies underneath.
Get a fixed written quote- 01
Number and size
Several repairs on one visit cost less each than a single call-out, and larger holes need more cutting, material and compaction.
- 02
Depth of failure
A shallow surface pothole is quicker to fix than one where the base beneath has broken up and must be dug out first.
- 03
Grouped or scattered
Potholes close together are often best planed out and relaid as one area, which can cost less than many separate patches.
- 04
Traffic and timing
Repairs on busy entrances or at set times, such as outside opening hours, may need phasing or traffic management that affects the price.
